# How to connect

> How to connect the HubSpot data source to Adriel: authorize a HubSpot portal, choose a report type and properties, and import CRM and marketing data.

HubSpot is an inbound marketing, sales, and customer-service platform built around a central CRM, where contacts, companies, deals, tickets, marketing emails, and engagement records live in a single portal. Connecting it brings CRM and marketing data into Adriel dashboards, so HubSpot activity can sit alongside ad-platform spend in one view.

## Before you connect

The following are required:

* A HubSpot account with access to the target portal.
* Permission to authorize third-party apps in that portal.
* A list of the HubSpot object types and properties to import — one report type per data source (contacts, companies, Deals, Emails, or Marketing\_emails), and the properties that belong to it.

Sales-pipeline analytics with deeper deal-stage attribution are handled separately by the HubSpot Deals connector, which is a distinct data source with its own authorization.

## Connect HubSpot

<Steps>
  <Step title="Authorize a HubSpot account">
    On the **Data Sources** page, search for **HubSpot** and select it. Sign in to HubSpot in the pop-up, then choose which account to connect and grant access to it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Configure the data source">
    On the data source settings, fill in the three required fields:

    * **Name**: an identifiable name for the data source.
    * **Report Type**: choose one of **contacts**, **companies**, **Deals**, **Emails**, or **Marketing\_emails**.
    * **Properties**: the properties that correspond to the selected report type. A single data source is limited to **90** properties.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Submit">
    Click **Submit** to complete the connection. Initial data availability can take up to one business day.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Report Type and Properties are bound to a single data source. To add another report type, or to import more than 90 properties, repeat the full connection flow and select the additional report type or remaining properties.

## What gets imported

The connector imports the selected HubSpot objects and their chosen properties for the authorized portal. Standard CRM metrics — new contacts, total contacts, new companies, new deals, deal amount, closed-won deals, and closed-won amount — and marketing-email engagement — sends, opens, clicks, bounces, and unsubscribes — are exposed alongside pipeline, deal stage, lifecycle stage, owner, and HubSpot source attribution.

## Troubleshooting

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="HubSpot Deals data is missing from the connection">
    The HubSpot and HubSpot Deals connectors register as separate applications with HubSpot. Sales-pipeline analytics live behind the HubSpot Deals scopes and require their own authorization. Add a HubSpot Deals data source to surface deal-pipeline metrics.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="A newly added custom property is not available in widgets">
    Contact, company, and deal properties follow a selected-properties model: only properties chosen at data source creation are imported. Edit the data source to include the new property, then wait for the next sync for it to populate.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Lifecycle-stage history is not shown">
    The lifecycle-stage breakdown reflects each contact's current stage. Stage-change history is not retained, so funnel widgets show contacts by their present stage rather than a time series of transitions.
