# FAQs

> Common questions, expected behaviors, and troubleshooting for the Outbrain Ads data source.

## Why do I get a "not supported as a parent breakdown" error?

The **Publisher** and **Ad (promoted link)** breakdowns can only be used nested under another breakdown, not as the top-level (parent) breakdown. Selecting either one first returns an unsupported-parent-breakdown error before any data loads.

To fix this, put a supported breakdown first — **Campaign** works well — and add Publisher or Ad (promoted link) as the nested breakdown beneath it. The full list of available breakdowns is in the [Outbrain Ads data reference](/data-sources/o-z/outbrain-ads/data-reference).

## Why does each of my marketers show up as a separate data source?

When one set of Outbrain credentials grants access to more than one marketer, Adriel creates a separate data source for each marketer selected during setup. Each one has its own asset, its own name, and its own currency.

This is expected. To report across several marketers, add each data source to the same dashboard and aggregate at the dashboard layer rather than expecting a single data source to combine them.

## Why is my Outbrain spend in a different currency than my workspace?

Spend and cost metrics are reported in the currency configured on the Outbrain marketer account, not the workspace currency. Because each marketer becomes its own data source, two marketers on the same dashboard can report in two different currencies.

Values are not converted into a common currency. When aggregating spend across marketers that use different currencies, treat each currency separately rather than summing the raw totals.

## Why can't I pull more than 93 days of daily data?

The maximum look-back window depends on the time grouping requested. Daily data is capped at 93 days, weekly at 1 year, and monthly at 2 years. A daily view over a longer span exceeds the daily cap and returns no data.

To see a longer period, switch the time grouping to **Weekly** or **Monthly**, which allow wider ranges. The exact limits are listed in the [Outbrain Ads data reference](/data-sources/o-z/outbrain-ads/data-reference).

## How far back does my Outbrain data go?

Historical coverage is bounded by two things: the look-back limits for each time grouping described above, and the reporting window the Outbrain Amplify API exposes for each marketer. Data older than what the API returns for a marketer is unavailable.

Within those bounds, coverage grows over time. Because Adriel caches report data, the longer the data source stays connected, the more historical data is stored. See the [Outbrain Ads data reference](/data-sources/o-z/outbrain-ads/data-reference) for the refresh schedule that keeps that cache current.
