# How to connect

> How to connect the Pinterest Organic data source to Adriel: authorize a Pinterest Business account and import pin-level performance.

Pinterest Organic imports pin-level performance for a connected Pinterest Business account through the Pinterest API. Connecting it brings pins, the boards they belong to, and account-level audience signals into Adriel dashboards alongside impressions, saves, outbound clicks, closeups, and engagement.

## Before you connect

The following are required:

* A Pinterest **Business** account. Personal accounts do not have analytics access through the Pinterest API; convert the account in Pinterest account settings (free) before connecting.
* Permission to authorize third-party apps for the Pinterest account.
* Administrator access to the destination workspace.

## Connect Pinterest Organic

<Steps>
  <Step title="Select Pinterest Organic">
    On the **Data Sources** page, search for **Pinterest Organic** and select it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Authorize through Pinterest">
    Sign in with the Pinterest Business account when redirected, then approve the requested read scopes for pins, boards, and account analytics. Pinterest shows the exact scope list on the consent screen.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select metrics and breakdowns">
    Choose the metrics to import — impressions, saves, outbound clicks, closeups, and engagement — along with breakdowns such as board, pin, and date.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save the connection">
    Select **Save** to start the initial backfill. The first sync runs in the background; pins and account metrics appear once the sync completes.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What gets imported

The connector imports pin-level metrics (impressions, saves, outbound clicks, closeups, engagement) alongside board hierarchy and account-level audience signals (follower count, lifetime pin and board counts). Data refreshes daily, with daily page metrics covering the most recent rolling window.

For the complete list of metrics, breakdowns, and limits, see the [Pinterest Organic data reference](/data-sources/o-z/pinterest-organic/data-reference).
