# FAQs

> Common questions, expected behaviors, and troubleshooting for the Shopee Ads data source.

## What is the difference between broad and direct GMV and orders?

Shopee Ads reports conversion outcomes under two attribution models, and both appear as separate metrics.

**Direct** metrics credit outcomes on the advertised item itself — the specific listing the ad promoted. **Broad** metrics credit outcomes on any item in the shop that Shopee attributes to the ad, including items the shopper reached through the ad but ultimately bought instead of the advertised one. Broad figures are therefore usually equal to or higher than their direct counterparts.

This applies to GMV, orders, and the ratio metrics built on them. For example, Broad ROI divides broad GMV by spend, while Direct ROI divides direct GMV by spend. When comparing performance, pick one attribution model and stay consistent across widgets. The full metric list is in the [Shopee Ads data reference](/data-sources/o-z/shopee-ads/data-reference).

## Why can't I see data older than about six months?

Shopee Ads history is limited to roughly the last **180 days** (about six months). Queries that reach further back are rejected by the Shopee Ads API, so the limit comes from Shopee rather than from an Adriel setting.

When the data source is first connected, Adriel imports up to 180 days of historical daily data. Because Adriel caches the data, the longer the data source stays connected, the more history accumulates from that point forward — each new day is cached and retained even though Shopee will not serve data from before the roughly six-month window. A data source connected for a year holds close to a year of cached data, but the initial reach back in time is always capped near six months.

## Why is my most recent day of data missing or lower than expected?

Report data is served from a cache that refreshes on a schedule rather than live on each dashboard load. Activity from the most recent hours is not reflected until the next refresh, so the current day can appear empty or partial and then settle once the sync completes.

Newly created campaigns and recent changes follow the same pattern — they appear after the next sync, not immediately. For the exact refresh schedule and the rolling window each sync covers, see the [Shopee Ads data reference](/data-sources/o-z/shopee-ads/data-reference).

## Why do campaign Starts and Ends sometimes appear blank?

Campaign schedule fields (Starts and Ends) are metadata pulled alongside campaign settings and can display as empty or unexpected values for some campaigns. Spend, clicks, GMV, and order metrics are unaffected — only the schedule dates are involved.

For the authoritative campaign start and end dates, check the campaign in Shopee Seller Center. Treat the Starts and Ends fields in Adriel as informational until the display is confirmed reliable.

## Why do my Shopee Ads figures appear in different currencies across markets?

Shopee operates as separate marketplaces across Southeast Asia, and each connected shop reports its spend and GMV in that market's local currency. A shop in one country and a shop in another return amounts in different currencies, so summing them directly in a single widget can mix units.

To report spend or revenue across markets in one currency, use multi-currency reporting on the dashboard. See [Multi-currency reporting](/dashboards/building/multi-currency-reporting).

## Can I break Shopee Ads down by ad set or ad?

No. Shopee Ads exposes a single reporting level — the product-level campaign within a connected shop. There is no ad account, ad set, or ad hierarchy to break down by.

Campaigns can still be grouped by their own attributes, such as status, ad type, bidding method, and placement, and split across time with the standard date-grouping breakdowns. The available breakdowns are listed in the [Shopee Ads data reference](/data-sources/o-z/shopee-ads/data-reference).
