# FAQs

> Common questions, expected behaviors, and troubleshooting for the TikTok GMV Max data source.

## What's the difference between TikTok Ads and TikTok GMV Max?

They read from two different TikTok reporting products, so they are set up as separate data sources in Adriel. TikTok Ads covers general ad-account and campaign performance across TikTok's advertising surface. TikTok GMV Max covers TikTok Shop's automated GMV advertising product and reports commerce KPIs — spend, GMV, orders, and ROAS — organized across Campaign, Product, Creative, and Livestream levels.

Because the two use different reporting products, GMV Max figures may not reconcile exactly against a TikTok Ads data source. For general ad performance, use [TikTok Ads](/data-sources/o-z/tiktok/data-reference); for TikTok Shop revenue driven by GMV Max, use this data source. The full metric and breakdown list is in the [TikTok GMV Max data reference](/data-sources/o-z/tiktok-gmv-max/data-reference).

## Why can't I see product- or creative-level data for my Livestream campaign?

Each GMV Max data source is scoped to a single collection level — Campaign, Product, Creative, or Livestream — and Livestream is a separate branch. Livestream data cannot be broken down by product or creative in the same data source, so requesting product or creative detail on a livestream returns nothing.

To report across levels, create a separate data source for each level and combine them on the dashboard. Product depends on Campaign data being present, and Creative depends on Product, so the higher levels stay in sync first. The dependency and compatibility rules are covered in the [data reference](/data-sources/o-z/tiktok-gmv-max/data-reference).

## Why didn't my newly linked TikTok Shop store show up?

It depends on the store scope chosen when the data source was created. With **Use all stores**, the store list is refreshed on every sync, so a newly linked, GMV-Max-available store is picked up automatically on the next refresh. With **Select stores**, the data source is locked to the specific stores chosen at connection time, and a new store only appears after the data source is reconnected with that store selected.

Only stores that are GMV-Max-available are included in either mode. A store that TikTok does not mark as GMV-Max-available will not appear even under **Use all stores**.

## Why are my creative click and video-view counts slightly different from what TikTok shows?

At the Creative level, click and video-view counts are derived. TikTok's GMV Max reports return these as rate values, which Adriel converts into whole-number counts by applying the rate to impressions or clicks and rounding to an integer. Rounding at each step means the totals can differ slightly from the counts shown directly in TikTok's own interface.

Spend, GMV, and order counts are reported values and are not affected by this derivation. For the exact list of derived metrics, see the [data reference](/data-sources/o-z/tiktok-gmv-max/data-reference).

## Why do I keep having to reconnect my TikTok GMV Max data source?

This data source does not re-establish itself automatically when its TikTok authorization expires. When the token lapses, the connection stops refreshing until it is reconnected manually from the data source settings. Reconnecting restores syncing without recreating the data source.

If reconnecting does not resolve a persistent sync error, email `support@adriel.com` with the ad account ID and the affected dashboard URL.

## How far back does my TikTok GMV Max data go?

Adriel imports up to the last 90 days when the data source is first connected. Because Adriel caches the data, the longer the data source stays connected, the more historical data is stored. Data older than the initial 90-day window at the time of connection cannot be retrieved after the fact.

For the reporting date-range caps that apply per breakdown, and for how often the cache refreshes, see the [data reference](/data-sources/o-z/tiktok-gmv-max/data-reference).
