# How to connect

> How to connect the TikTok data source to Adriel: authorize a TikTok Ads Manager account, select ad accounts, and verify data.

TikTok Ads is TikTok's paid advertising platform, used to run mobile-first video campaigns across the TikTok short-form feed, in-feed placements, and partner properties. Connecting it brings ad accounts, campaigns, ad sets, and ads into Adriel dashboards alongside clicks, impressions, spend, video metrics, TikTok Pixel conversion events, and ROAS variants across Day0, Day2, and Day6 attribution windows.

## Before you connect

The following are required:

* A TikTok Ad account.
* A TikTok Ads Manager account with admin or operator-level access to the ad account being connected.
* If TikTok Business Center is used, the ad account must be added to it before connecting.
* A live TikTok Pixel, if conversion events should flow into dashboards — only events TikTok is already receiving will appear.

## Connect TikTok

<Steps>
  <Step title="Authorize a TikTok Ads Manager account">
    On the **Data Sources** page, search for **TikTok** and select it. Sign in to the TikTok business account in the pop-up window, then click **Confirm** to grant access to the TikTok Ad account.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select the ad accounts">
    On the data source settings, choose the **Ad accounts** to connect from the dropdown list.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Submit">
    Click **Submit** to complete the connection. The initial sync runs in the background and data can take up to one business day to appear.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What gets imported

The connector imports the full campaign hierarchy (ad account → campaign → ad set → ad), standard performance and engagement metrics, video metrics, hundreds of TikTok Pixel conversion events grouped by category (e-commerce, app, engagement, lead, game), ROAS variants across Day0, Day2, and Day6 attribution windows, and VTA / EVTA attribution metrics.

For the complete list of metrics, ROAS window definitions, and breakdown coverage, see the [TikTok Ads data reference](/data-sources/o-z/tiktok/data-reference).

## Troubleshooting

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Pixel conversion events are not appearing">
    Only events that TikTok Ads Manager is receiving can be displayed. Verification should start in the Events tab of TikTok Ads Manager to confirm the pixel is firing. If TikTok shows events but dashboards do not, allow up to 24 hours after connecting for the initial sync to complete.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="ROAS numbers do not match TikTok Ads Manager">
    Attribution window differences are the most common cause. TikTok defaults to specific windows in its UI, while the connector exposes Day0, Day2, and Day6 ROAS variants. The selected metric must match the window being compared against in TikTok.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Custom Pixel events show as internal IDs">
    Custom events configured in TikTok Ads Manager may surface under their TikTok-internal IDs unless a friendly label has been set in TikTok.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Token expired error">
    Auth tokens occasionally expire. Reconnect via Connections → TikTok Ads → Reconnect and sign in again with the same TikTok account.
  </Accordion>
