# How to connect

> How to connect the Yahoo! Ads data source to Adriel: authorize a Yahoo account, select the ad accounts, and verify data.

Yahoo! Ads is Yahoo's US and global advertising platform, serving search, native, and standard display ads across Yahoo properties (Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Finance, Yahoo News, AOL) and partner publishers through the Gemini ad network. Connecting it brings the full campaign hierarchy into Adriel dashboards alongside impressions, clicks, spend, and conversions tracked via the Yahoo Dot tag.

<Info>
  Yahoo! Ads covers Yahoo's US and global Gemini network for search and standard display. Programmatic display, video, native, CTV, and DOOH campaigns use the separate **Yahoo DSP** data source. Japan-specific advertising uses the **Yahoo! Japan Search Ads** and **Yahoo! Japan Display Ads** data sources. Yahoo! Ads and Yahoo DSP are separate data sources and do not share credentials.

## What gets imported

The connector imports data at every level of the campaign hierarchy (ad account, campaign, ad group, ad) across search, native, and standard display. Performance metrics — impressions, clicks, CTR, CPC, CPM, spend, conversions, and conversion value — are accompanied by gender, age, location, device, and daily breakdowns.

For the complete list of metrics, breakdowns, and refresh cadence, see the [Yahoo! Ads data reference](/data-sources/o-z/yahoo-ads/data-reference).

    Access tokens are renewed automatically from the stored refresh token. Persistent authentication errors usually indicate a revoked refresh token. Open **Connections > Yahoo! Ads** and click **Reconnect** to refresh the authorization.

  <Accordion title="Reports appear delayed">
    Report data is fetched from the Gemini API on each dashboard query, and scheduled refreshes backfill late-arriving conversion and click data over rolling 3-, 9-, and 30-day windows. Very large accounts may experience longer initial backfills.

  <Accordion title="Campaigns are in the wrong data source">
    Yahoo! Ads covers search and standard display through Yahoo's primary advertiser interface. Programmatic display, video, native, CTV, and DOOH campaigns belong to the Yahoo DSP data source instead. The two data sources are separate and do not share credentials.
