# Deactivate my account

> Account deactivation removes access while preserving workspace data. Sole workspace admins must transfer admin first.

Deactivating an account closes out the user profile and revokes access. Workspace data, dashboards, and connected data sources are preserved.

## Before deactivating

## What happens after deactivation

* The account record is soft-deleted: status changes to `DELETED`, the email address is reserved so it can't be reused, and the OAuth identity (if any) is decoupled.
* Workspace data, dashboards, widgets, and connected data sources remain intact — other members continue to see them.
* Subscriptions to marketing communications are revoked.
