Before you connect
The following are required:- An Amplitude account with API access.
- Administrator or organization-owner permission to view the project’s General settings page, where the API Key and Secret Key are exposed.
- The Amplitude project API Key and Secret Key from the project’s General settings.
- One Amplitude project per data source — each project has its own credentials.
Connect Amplitude
1
Retrieve the Amplitude API Key and Secret Key
Log in to the Amplitude account. Click the settings icon at the top-left of the landing page to open the Organization settings page, then click Projects to view all projects. Select the project to connect, and copy the API Key and Secret Key shown on its general settings page.
2
Add the data source in Adriel
On the Data Sources page, search for Amplitude and select it. In the data source settings, enter a Name (the project name or any identifiable label, useful for distinguishing multiple Amplitude projects), then paste the API Key and Secret Key retrieved in the previous step.
3
Submit
Click Submit to complete the connection. Initial data availability can take up to one business day. Repeat these steps to connect each additional Amplitude project as its own data source.
What gets imported
The connector imports event totals, unique users, new users, active users, and cohort-aware variants for every event in the Amplitude project. The metric list is generated at runtime from the event catalog and refreshes every five minutes, and reports are fetched at query time. Date ranges are capped at six months per query. For the complete list of metrics, breakdowns, and limits, see the Amplitude data reference.Troubleshooting
A newly created event is missing from the picker
A newly created event is missing from the picker
The event catalog is cached for five minutes per project. New events defined in Amplitude can take up to five minutes to appear. Wait and refresh, or reopen the connector picker.
A 'Too much data requested, incomplete' warning appears
A 'Too much data requested, incomplete' warning appears
Amplitude returns a pruned-result flag when it has truncated a high-cardinality result. Data is still returned but flagged as incomplete. Reduce breakdown cardinality or shorten the date range to remove the warning.
A date range longer than six months is rejected
A date range longer than six months is rejected
Single queries are validated against a six-month maximum date range. Break longer historical pulls into multiple windows.
Funnel analysis is missing from this connector
Funnel analysis is missing from this connector
Funnel conversion, step transitions, and time-to-convert metrics live in the separate Amplitude Funnel connector. Add an Amplitude Funnel data source to access funnel reports.
Multiple Amplitude projects need separate data sources
Multiple Amplitude projects need separate data sources
Each project has its own API Key and Secret Key, and credentials cannot read across projects. Connect one data source per project.
