Why do my numbers differ depending on the report type I picked?
Each Baidu Analytics data source is built around a single report type chosen when the data source is created. The report type controls two things at once: which metrics the source returns and what each row represents. A Search Term source groups rows by keyword and exposes engagement and conversion metrics, while a Visited Pages source groups rows by page and exposes page-level metrics such as entrances, exits, and outbound clicks. Because the metric set and the primary breakdown both change with the report type, two data sources built on different report types are not expected to line up, even for the same site and date range. For the exact metric set behind each report type, see the Baidu Analytics data reference. Why can’t I change the report type after connecting?
The report type is fixed at creation and stored on the data source, so it cannot be switched later. The same applies to the site the source reports on and, for the Website Overview (common) report, to the collection selected during setup. To report on a different report type, create a new Baidu Analytics data source and choose the report type wanted. The original source can stay connected alongside it.Why did connecting one account create several data sources?
Site selection accepts more than one site during setup, and a Baidu Analytics data source is scoped to a single site. When several sites are selected, Adriel provisions one data source per site, each named after its domain and report type. This is expected behavior. To report on multiple sites together, add their data sources to the same dashboard and combine them in a widget. Why does my data only go back about six months?
When a Baidu Analytics data source is first connected, Adriel imports roughly the last 180 days of daily history. Data from before that window is not backfilled and is unavailable at first. Because Adriel caches the data, the longer the data source stays connected, the more historical data is stored, so coverage grows past the initial six months over time. For the import window and rolling-refresh details, see the Baidu Analytics data reference. Can I combine Baidu Analytics with other data sources on one widget?
Baidu Analytics is a table-style source, so it reports cleanly on its own and combines with other data sources when they share a breakdown, most commonly Date. To place it alongside connectors that do not share a breakdown with it, set up a blended data source so the values align on a common field. Keeping the report type and its primary breakdown in mind helps decide which other sources will combine naturally. What happens if my access token stops working?
Baidu Analytics signs in with a username and access token rather than OAuth, and the connection does not refresh itself. When the token expires or is revoked, the next sync fails, the source reports an invalid-token error (The access token you provided is invalidate, returned verbatim by Baidu), and the data source is disconnected. Reconnecting requires re-entering valid credentials for the same account. If the credentials are known-good and the connection still fails, email support@adriel.com with the site domain and the affected dashboard URL.
