Google Keyword Planner is Google Ads’ keyword research tool. Connecting it brings search-volume estimates, competition levels, and top-of-page bid ranges for a defined set of keywords into Adriel dashboards, sourced from the Google Ads Keyword Planner API.

Before you connect

The following are required:
  • A Google account with access to at least one Google Ads account (customer). If the authenticated account has no accessible Google Ads customer, the connection cannot be created.
  • Keyword Planner tool access on that Google Ads account. New or inactive accounts may return restricted data.
  • The list of keywords to research, plus the target network and countries for the query.

Connect Google Keyword Planner

1

Authorize a Google account

On the Data Sources page, search for Google Keyword Planner and select it. Sign in to Google in the pop-up using an account with access to the target Google Ads account, then grant the requested read permission. Google shows the exact scope on the consent screen.
2

Enter the keywords

In the Keyword field, enter the keywords to research. Separate multiple values with a colon (:). Spaces around each value are disregarded.
3

Select the network

Choose the Network from the dropdown. Options are Google Search (search traffic only) and Google Search and Partners (Google Search plus partner network sites).
4

Choose the countries

Select the target countries under Country. Up to 10 countries can be selected per connection. Choose None to retrieve data for all locations.
5

Name the data source and submit

Enter a Name for the data source, then click Submit to complete the connection. The initial query runs in the background and results appear once the first sync finishes.

What gets imported

The connector imports keyword research indicators for the defined query: average monthly searches, competition level and index, and top-of-page bid ranges (low and high). It does not import delivery metrics — there are no impressions, clicks, cost, or conversions. For the complete list of metrics, breakdowns, and limits, see the Google Keyword Planner data reference.

Troubleshooting

The connection cannot be created if the authenticated Google account has no accessible Google Ads account. Sign in with an account that has access to at least one Google Ads customer, or request access to one.
A maximum of 10 countries can be selected per connection. Reduce the selection to 10 or fewer, or choose None to retrieve data for all locations.
Google returns no metrics for keywords it has no data for (for example, some proper nouns). Such keywords are omitted from the results rather than shown as empty rows. Try broader or related keywords.
