Why does my Instagram Public data source only show about 100 posts?

Instagram Public returns at most the 100 most recent posts for a monitored account. Because of Instagram API quota limits, the connector stops at 100 by design, so older posts are not retrieved and will not appear in a widget. There is no setting to raise this cap. For a specific older post, reporting has to happen while it is still within the 100 most recent posts for that account. Profile-level metrics such as follower count are unaffected — the cap applies only to per-post data.

Why can’t I filter this data source by date range?

Instagram Public does not use the dashboard date range. It has no date filtering: every report reads the current cached snapshot rather than a historical daily series. The profile view returns a single row for the account, and the media view returns the most recent posts (up to the 100-post cap), regardless of the date range set on the dashboard. As a result, there is no historical daily breakdown to chart over time. Each engagement value reflects the latest cached total for a post, not what that total was on a past date. The effective date shown reflects the most recent successful cache refresh. For the refresh schedule itself, see the Instagram Public data reference.

Why did my data source stop working after the account changed its username?

Instagram Public identifies a monitored account by its Instagram username. When that username changes, the link between the data source and the account breaks, and the affected data source stops returning data. The fix is to recreate the data source against the new username. An existing data source cannot be repointed to a changed handle. To reconnect, see How to connect Instagram Public to Adriel.

Can I see reach, impressions, or other insights for the accounts I track?

No. Instagram Public reads only publicly visible profile and engagement data — followers, follows, media count, bio, likes, comments, captions, and media details. Owner-only insights such as reach and impressions are not part of the public Instagram surface, so they cannot be reported through this data source no matter how the widget is configured. Those metrics require an owned, authenticated account. Instagram organic analytics cover reach, impressions, and audience insights for an account the connecting user administers. Instagram Public is for public-profile and competitor tracking; the two are separate data sources. See the Instagram Organic data reference for owner-only insights.

Why does an account I added return no data?

Two account-level restrictions explain most empty results.
Instagram Public can only read Instagram professional accounts — that is, business or creator accounts. Personal accounts are not supported and return no data. The target account must switch to a professional account type before it can be tracked.
Data about age-gated Instagram professional accounts is not returned by the API, so a widget pointed at one stays empty even though the account is professional and the username is correct.

Why do some profile pictures or post images fail to load?

Profile-picture and post media fields point to Instagram-hosted media. Those URLs can expire or change when the underlying content is removed or is no longer accessible through the API. An image that loaded before may later fail to load even though the rest of the metric row is intact. This is expected for a public data source and does not indicate a broken connection. The numeric metrics for the post — likes, comments, timestamp — continue to update on each refresh independent of whether the media URL still resolves.
