Before you connect
The following are required:- A Facebook account with at least Analyst permission on the ad account being connected. If the account lacks Analyst permission, request a delegated share from someone who has it.
- Access to the Meta Business Manager that owns the ad account.
- A configured Meta Pixel, if conversion events should flow into dashboards — only events Meta is already receiving will appear.
Connect Meta Ads
1
Authorize a Facebook account
On the Data Sources page, search for Meta Ads (also listed under “Facebook Ads”) and select it. Sign in to Facebook in the pop-up using an account with access to the target ad accounts, then click OK to authorize the requested read permissions (ads, insights, Business Manager). Meta shows the exact scope list on the consent screen.
2
Select the ad account
On the data source settings, choose the Ad account to connect. Every ad account available through Business Manager is listed; check the ones to connect.
3
Submit
Click Submit to complete the connection. The initial sync runs in the background — campaigns typically appear within one business day.
What gets imported
The connector imports the full campaign hierarchy (ad account → campaign → ad set → ad), standard performance and engagement metrics, video metrics, and Meta Pixel conversion events across four default attribution windows (7-day click, 1-day click, 7-day view, 1-day view). Extended 28-day windows can be enabled per workspace. For the complete list of metrics, breakdowns, attribution-window logic, and the breakdown × level compatibility matrix, see the Meta Ads data reference.Troubleshooting
Pixel conversion events are not appearing
Pixel conversion events are not appearing
Only events that Meta itself is receiving are displayed. If the tracking pixel is misconfigured or events are not reaching Meta’s Ad Manager, they will not surface in dashboards. Verification should start in Meta Events Manager.
Conversion numbers differ from Meta Ads Manager
Conversion numbers differ from Meta Ads Manager
Three common causes: the workspace timezone differs from the Meta ad account timezone; the connector default attribution combines 7-day click and 1-day view, which may diverge from the window selected in the Meta UI; and renamed custom conversion events take up to seven days to be re-resolved.
Older campaigns are missing
Older campaigns are missing
Only campaigns created within the last 30 months are imported. Older campaigns are not pulled by the connector.
