Microsoft Ads is the connector for Microsoft Advertising (formerly Bing Ads), whose campaigns serve across Bing, Yahoo, AOL, MSN, the Microsoft Audience Network, and partner syndication. Connecting it brings the full campaign hierarchy, standard performance metrics, conversions, and Microsoft-specific share-of-voice metrics into Adriel dashboards alongside other marketing sources, across Search, Shopping, Dynamic Search, Audience, Hotel, and Performance Max campaign types.

Before you connect

The following are required:
  • A Microsoft account with Standard User or Super Admin role on the target Microsoft Advertising account.
  • Authorization to grant the msads.manage offline_access permission scope on sign-in.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Advertising customer (top-level organization) and ad account intended for connection.

Connect Microsoft Ads

1

Authorize a Microsoft account

On the Data Sources page, search for Microsoft Ads and select it. When the pop-up window opens, click Log in, then sign in with the Microsoft account that holds access to the target ad accounts and approve the msads.manage offline_access scope to grant access.
2

Select the ad account

On the data source settings, select the Ad account to connect from the dropdown list. Multiple selections are supported.
3

Submit

Click Submit to complete the connection. Initial data availability can take up to one business day.

What gets imported

The connector imports data at every level of the campaign hierarchy — customer, ad account, campaign, ad group (ad set), ad, and keyword — across all supported campaign types. Standard performance metrics (impressions, clicks, CTR, CPC, CPM, spend, conversions, conversion value) are accompanied by Microsoft-specific share-of-voice metrics and device, country, and daily breakdowns. For the complete list of metrics, breakdowns, and refresh cadence, see the Microsoft Ads data reference.

Troubleshooting

Three checks run on every Microsoft Ads connection: a valid refresh token, a scope that includes msads.manage, and a successful account-listing call. A failure on any check marks the connection unhealthy. Reconnect through the Connections page and approve the full permission set.
Microsoft uses asynchronous SOAP-based reporting — reports are submitted as jobs, polled until ready, and downloaded. Recent data refreshes on a rolling cadence over the last 3, 9, and 30 days; very large accounts may experience longer initial backfills.
Microsoft refresh tokens rotate periodically and can expire after extended inactivity. Token renewal is handled automatically when possible; if reconnection is required, open Connections > Microsoft Ads and click Reconnect.
Every Microsoft Ads call requires the customer ID and ad account ID together. Mismatched pairings return permission errors rather than empty data. Reconnect and confirm the correct customer and account combination during selection.
