Why is my Reddit reach higher than expected over a multi-day range?

Uniqueness-based metrics such as reach can be overstated when a widget spans more than one day. Reddit reports reach per daily snapshot, and Adriel sums those daily values across the selected range rather than de-duplicating people who were reached on more than one day. A person reached on three separate days is counted three times in a three-day total. For an accurate figure, view reach one day at a time, or treat multi-day reach as an upper bound rather than a unique-user count. Additive metrics like impressions, clicks, and spend are unaffected and aggregate correctly across any range.

Why don’t recent changes in Reddit Ads Manager show up on my dashboard yet?

Reddit reporting in Adriel is served from cached daily snapshots, not queried live from Reddit at the moment a dashboard loads. A change made in Reddit Ads Manager — a new campaign, a renamed ad, or fresh spend from the last few hours — appears only after the next scheduled sync brings it into the cache. For the sync schedule and the size of the reliable data window, see the Reddit data reference. Background on how caching and freshness work across sources is in Refresh strategies.

Why can’t I break down demographics by campaign or ad?

Demographic, geographic, device, and placement breakdowns — country, region, gender, OS, and platform placement — are reported at the ad account level only. Reddit does not return these segmentations alongside campaign, ad set, or ad granularity, so they cannot be combined in the same query. To analyze demographics, keep the widget at the ad account level and add one of these breakdowns on its own. To analyze structure, break down by campaign, ad set, or ad without a demographic segmentation. Splitting the two views into separate widgets is the reliable way to see both.

Why do I get a from-date-too-old error on Reddit reports?

Reddit’s reporting API limits how far back data can be requested — roughly the last 12 months. When a widget’s date range starts earlier than about 363 days ago, Reddit rejects the request and Adriel surfaces a from-date-too-old error for that widget. To resolve it, move the start date to within the last year. Data inside the most recent reliable window syncs on schedule and is the most dependable; values near the far edge of the 12-month limit may be incomplete. Reddit reports are also available at daily granularity only, so weekly and monthly report breakdowns are not offered.

Why don’t my deleted campaigns and ads appear?

Deleted campaigns, ad sets, and ads are not provided by the Reddit connector, so their historical performance cannot be shown on a dashboard even for dates when they were active. To preserve reporting on an element that is no longer needed, pause it in Reddit Ads Manager instead of deleting it.

Where is my organic subreddit and post data?

The Reddit data source covers paid advertising only — campaigns, ad sets, ads, and their delivery and conversion metrics. Organic subreddit and post-level analytics come from a separate connector, Reddit Public. For organic data, connect Reddit Public and see its data reference. The two connectors are independent and can run side by side on the same dashboard.

Common issues

Reddit disconnections with EXTERNAL_SERVICE_PERMISSION_MISSING happen when the Reddit Ads developer app or user permissions no longer match Reddit’s Business Manager and Ads API v3 requirements. To resolve:
  • Re-run OAuth while logged in as the correct user with all requested scopes (adsread, history, identity, adsconversions, adsedit, read), or
  • Delete and re-create the Reddit data source.
