Taboola is a global native advertising platform that distributes sponsored content and video ads across publisher sites. Connecting it pulls campaign architecture and performance from the Taboola Backstage API for the selected accounts, automatically detecting whether each account is a standard content-discovery account or a video account.

Before you connect

The following are required:
  • A Taboola Ads account with Backstage API access enabled.
  • A Taboola App ID and App Secret pair, issued from the Taboola developer console. The secret is shown only once at creation.
  • Permission on the Taboola accounts whose data should be imported.

Connect Taboola

1

Retrieve the Taboola App ID and App Secret

Contact the assigned Taboola account manager, or send an API request to the Taboola Operations Team. Provide the Taboola Account ID, and Taboola will reply with the App ID and App Secret. The secret is issued once, so store it securely.
2

Select Taboola in Adriel

On the Data Sources page, search for Taboola and select it.
3

Enter the credentials

Fill in the App ID and App Secret retrieved in the previous step.
4

Choose the accounts

Select the Taboola Ad Account(s) to connect. A separate data source is created per Taboola account.
5

Submit

Click Submit to complete the connection. Initial data availability can take up to one business day.

What gets imported

Performance data is imported at account, campaign, and item (ad) levels, with breakdowns by site, section, country, and day. Standard accounts surface impressions, clicks, spend, conversions, and conversion value, plus derived rates such as CTR, CPC, and CPM. Video accounts surface video views, completions, quartile milestones, completion rate, and VTR. Architecture refreshes twice daily, and report data is available in real time, with scheduled syncs every 6 hours covering the last 30 days. For the complete list of metrics, breakdowns, refresh cadence, and date-range limits, see the Taboola data reference.

Troubleshooting

Either the App ID lacks access to any account, or Backstage API access is not enabled on the Taboola side. Contact the Taboola account manager to confirm API access and account-level scopes.
Taboola accounts are configured as either standard (content discovery) or video at the platform level. The connector detects each account’s mode automatically and exposes the appropriate metric set. Mode changes must be made in Taboola itself.
Video accounts are served from a daily cache for performance. Figures reconcile after the next cache refresh, while standard accounts query Taboola live on every dashboard load.
Spend and conversion value are reported in the currency configured on each Taboola account. Workspaces using a different display currency receive auto-converted values.
