Why might my reach look too high over a multi-day range?
Reach and other uniqueness-based metrics count each person once. Yahoo Japan Display Ads report data is served from cached daily snapshots, so when a widget spans several days, the daily unique counts are added together rather than de-duplicated across the whole range. A user who saw the ad on three separate days can be counted three times, which inflates the total. For the most accurate unique counts, view reach one day at a time. Impressions, clicks, spend, and other additive metrics are not affected. See the data reference for how the cache is populated. Why don’t my keyword reports return any data?
Keyword-level reporting is a Search Ads feature and is not available for Display Ads. Yahoo Japan Display Ads delivers against audiences and placements rather than keywords, so a keyword breakdown or a keyword-level widget always returns an empty result. For keyword performance, use the Yahoo Japan Search Ads connector instead. On Display Ads, the audience and placement breakdowns — age, gender, region (prefecture), device, and site — are the equivalent way to segment delivery. Why do some viewability columns disappear when I break down by Site?
When the Site breakdown (the ad delivery URL) is active, Viewable clicks and Material viewable impressions are excluded from the results. The Site breakdown reports at the delivery-URL grain, and those two viewability metrics are not returned at that grain, so they drop out of the widget. The other viewability metrics — such as Viewable impressions, Measured impressions, and their rates — remain available. To see Viewable clicks or Material viewable impressions, remove the Site breakdown or view them in a separate widget without it.Why can’t I combine the Site breakdown with the Ad level?
The Site breakdown cannot be used together with the ad level on Display Ads. A widget that requests both at once returns an error rather than data. This is a platform constraint on how delivery-URL data can be grouped. To report by site, keep the widget at the ad account, campaign, or ad set level. To analyze individual ads, remove the Site breakdown from that widget. What’s different between the Display Ads and Search Ads connectors?
Both connect to Yahoo! JAPAN Ads, but they cover different products and are kept as separate data sources. Display Ads (YDA / YDN) covers banner, native, and video placements across the Yahoo! JAPAN network, while Search Ads covers keyword-targeted search results. The practical differences on Adriel:- Keyword reporting is available on Search Ads only; Display Ads returns empty for keyword breakdowns.
- Video and viewability metrics are available on Display Ads only.
- Audience and placement breakdowns — age, gender, region (prefecture), and site — are available on Display Ads only.
Why is my daily breakdown capped at 93 days?
To keep query sizes manageable, the connector caps each time breakdown to a maximum look-back window: 93 days for daily, one year for weekly, and two years for monthly. A daily widget set to a range wider than 93 days shows data only within the cap. To cover a longer period, switch the widget to a weekly or monthly breakdown, which allow wider windows. The exact caps are listed in the data reference.Related
