Why does my reach look inflated over long date ranges?

Reach is a uniqueness-based metric. DV360 counts unique users within each daily snapshot, so summing those snapshots across a period longer than one day double-counts users who were reached on more than one day. The result is a total that grows with the date range and can look overstated. For a defensible reach figure, keep the date range short or use monthly granularity, which aggregates uniqueness at the month level rather than adding up daily snapshots. The same behavior applies to frequency and to the other Unique Reach group metrics.

Why do I need a country breakdown to see reach?

DV360 only returns reach when the query is grouped by country. Requesting reach (or any Unique Reach group metric) without a country breakdown produces an error from DV360, so a widget built that way returns no data. A few related constraints apply:
  • Reach cannot be combined with advertiser-currency segmentation in the same query.
  • Monthly granularity is the practical requirement for meaningful reach numbers.
Adding the country breakdown and switching to a monthly date breakdown resolves both the error and the inflation described above.

Why are Floodlight conversions missing from my DV360 dashboard?

Floodlight conversion metrics only appear when the DV360 advertiser is linked with Campaign Manager 360 (CM360). Without that link, the Floodlight fields are never returned by DV360, so they do not show up in the field list or on widgets. When the advertiser is linked, Floodlight activities surface as their own conversion metrics alongside the standard conversion set. If a linked advertiser still shows no Floodlight data, confirm the link is active on the Google side and that the activities have recorded conversions in the selected date range. Standard conversion metrics (Total conversions, Post-click conversions, Post-view conversions) do not depend on the CM360 link and remain available either way.

Why did my Invalid Clicks or Invalid Impressions disappear when I added a country breakdown?

Invalid Clicks and Invalid Impressions are incompatible with country segmentation. When a country breakdown is added to a widget, DV360 cannot return those two metrics for the segmented query, so they are dropped and the widget shows no value for them. To report Invalid Clicks or Invalid Impressions, remove the country breakdown and query them without geographic segmentation. Other delivery metrics, such as Impressions and Clicks, are unaffected and continue to return with a country breakdown applied.

Why is recent DV360 data sometimes incomplete or slightly off?

DV360 report data is served from a daily cache rather than fetched live on every dashboard load, and each refresh syncs a rolling window of the most recent days. Figures inside that window are considered reliable. Figures outside it stay anchored to the last snapshot and can be incomplete or not fully accurate. Newly-made changes are not immediate either — they appear after the next scheduled sync. Because DV360 builds its underlying reports asynchronously, the gap between a refresh and data availability also depends on report size and Google’s job queue. For the exact refresh schedule and the length of the sync window, see the DV360 data reference.

How do I report on a custom DV360 saved query?

The standard DV360 data source reports on a standardized metric and breakdown set so its data aggregates cleanly with other channels. User-authored DV360 saved queries are not read through this connector. Those are handled by the separate DV360 Report data source, which downloads a pre-configured offline report and caches it as a free-format file on its own schedule. For custom saved-query reporting, connect the DV360 Report data source in addition to (not instead of) this one. See How to connect DV360 Report and the DV360 Report data reference.

Common issues

DV360 creative issues typically come from one of two causes:
  • Mapping error. If Creative is mapped to a different field (for example, Ad Set Name) on the data source, the widget pulls the wrong value. Remap Creative to Ad Name to fix.
  • Unknown creatives in the underlying report. DV360 reports don’t always include a creative link field, and in some report configurations every row’s creative value is Unknown. When that happens, only one element is shown per the blend settings and custom breakdowns generated by regex on the creative field return empty.
When comparing DV360 in Adriel against Google’s UI, verify both use the same date range, ad status filter, and advertiser — mismatches on any of these can produce large discrepancies.
