Why is there no data before the date I connected my channel?
KakaoTalk Channel does not load historical follower counts that predate the connection. Unlike marketing data sources, it does not retroactively import past data. Instead, friend counts accumulate day-by-day starting from the date the channel is connected, so the earliest date shown is the connection date. Friend count delta is not returned by KakaoTalk. Adriel computes it as the change in friend count compared to the previous day’s recorded value. On the first day a channel is connected, the delta shows 0 because there is no earlier day to compare against. A meaningful delta appears once at least one full day of data has accumulated. Both friend count and friend count delta are aggregated as a sum across the selected date range.Why can I only track one channel per data source?
Each KakaoTalk Channel data source tracks a single public channel, identified by its channel ID. The data model is channel-level, so one data source maps to one channel. To track several channels, a separate data source is created for each one. Each connects independently with its own channel ID.Why can’t I break friend count down by campaign or ad?
KakaoTalk Channel is a follower-tracking data source, not an advertising one. Its data model has no campaign or ad hierarchy — only channel-level daily counts. Because of this, the available breakdowns are limited to date and channel (channel name and channel ID), grouped into daily, monthly, and quarterly views. For campaign or ad-level reporting on Kakao, use one of Adriel’s Kakao advertising data sources instead, such as Kakao Moment or Kakao Keyword Ads.Do I need an API key or login to connect?
No. KakaoTalk Channel is a public data source, so there is no OAuth sign-in or API key step. A connection is created by supplying the public channel’s ID, which starts with an underscore (for example,_ABC).
