Why is my follower history empty before the date I connected?

Follower count and audience demographics have no historical backfill. TikTok’s Business API only returns a current snapshot of these values, so Adriel stores one daily snapshot from the connection date forward and builds history from there. Days before the connection have no follower or demographic data and cannot be recovered. Video-level metrics behave differently: videos posted before the connection are imported with their lifetime totals, so a video’s all-time views or likes are available immediately even though its day-by-day history only starts accumulating after connection. For the full import window and what is cached, see the TikTok Organic data reference.

Why doesn’t today’s data show up for TikTok Organic?

The TikTok Business API does not return data for the current calendar day. The most recent day available is yesterday (UTC), so a widget with a date range that includes today shows the latest complete day rather than live figures. This is expected and not a sync failure. Newly published videos and recent changes appear after the next scheduled refresh rather than instantly. The refresh schedule is documented in the TikTok Organic data reference.

Why don’t my daily deltas add up to the lifetime total?

Most performance metrics are available in two forms: Lifetime, a snapshot of the total at the moment the data is retrieved, and Delta, the day-over-day change. For videos published before the connection date, the first delta is 0 because there is no prior day to compare against. As a result, summing the deltas will fall short of the lifetime total for those videos. To report a true cumulative figure, use the Lifetime metric. Deltas are best for trend monitoring over the period since the connection was established. When a delta cannot be calculated for a given day (for example, a gap in platform data), it is estimated from the last available data point.

Why is my multi-day reach higher than the number of people who actually saw my content?

Reach is a daily unique-user count. When a report spans several days, each day’s unique reach is added together, so a viewer who watched on three separate days is counted three times in the multi-day total. The sum is therefore higher than the true number of distinct people reached over the whole period. For an accurate unique figure, read reach one day at a time rather than as a range total, or rely on views and engagement metrics, which are additive across days.

Can I connect a personal TikTok account?

No. Only TikTok Creator and Business accounts can be connected, because the TikTok Business API only exposes data for those account types. A personal consumer account has to be switched to a Creator or Business account in the TikTok app before it can be connected. For the connection steps, see How to connect TikTok Organic to Adriel.

Why did my TikTok Organic connection disconnect?

Access is maintained through an automatically refreshed authorization token. If that authorization can no longer be renewed — for example, the TikTok password changed, permissions were revoked, or account access was reset — the data source disconnects and has to be reauthorized. This authorization is shared with the TikTok Ads data source, so reconnecting one may prompt the other to be reconnected as well. To restore data, reconnect the account from the connection page. The steps are in How to connect TikTok Organic to Adriel. If the connection keeps dropping after a successful reauthorization, email support@adriel.com with the affected data source name and dashboard URL.
