Before you connect
The following are required:- An X (Twitter) account to connect.
- X API access at a tier that exposes organic analytics — Basic tier or higher is typically required for tweet impressions and engagement metrics. Higher tiers unlock historical impressions, deeper engagement breakdowns, and longer lookback windows.
- Permission to authorize third-party applications against the account.
- An X (Twitter) account with access to an X Ads account. This is required to fetch the account list during connection; the X Ads account also needs a configured payment method before its account list is exposed.

What gets imported
Data arrives at daily granularity in UTC via the X API. Lifetime account and post data refresh once per day at 6:30 PM UTC, and the daily-page window refreshes the most recent 3 days at 6:00 PM UTC. The metric set depends on the API tier of the credentials used at authorization — higher tiers expose historical impressions and richer engagement breakdowns, while lower tiers may surface partial coverage. X also enforces strict rate limits on organic analytics endpoints, especially under Free and Basic tiers, which can delay or partially complete a refresh cycle. For the complete list of metrics and breakdowns, see the X (Twitter) Organic data reference.Troubleshooting

The connection requires signing in with an X account that has access to an X Ads account. Without an ad account, the connector cannot fetch the account list. The X Ads account also requires a configured payment method before its account list is exposed via the Ads API.

The X API meters organic analytics by access tier. Metrics such as historical impressions and bookmarks are typically gated to Basic tier or higher. Upgrade the X API plan backing the connection if richer coverage is needed.
A refresh cycle completed only partially
A refresh cycle completed only partially
X’s organic analytics endpoints enforce strict rate limits, particularly on Free and Basic tiers. Large or high-volume accounts can hit those limits mid-cycle. The next refresh picks up where the previous one stopped.

X refresh tokens eventually expire or can be revoked by the X account holder. Reconnect the data source through the OAuth flow to mint a new token pair.

The initial backfill retrieves posts created within the past 182 days but only with lifetime metrics — no historical daily values are reconstructed. Daily values accumulate going forward from the connection date.
