Why don’t age, gender, region, or site breakdowns appear for Yahoo Japan Search Ads?
Those breakdowns belong to Yahoo Japan Display Ads and do not apply to Search campaigns. Search Ads supports keyword, search term, device, location, and country breakdowns instead. Requesting a site breakdown on Search Ads returns anINVALID_DIMENSIONS_METRICS_COMBINATION error rather than data. For audience-style segmentation by age, gender, or region, use the Yahoo Japan Display Ads data source.
Why does a keyword breakdown only work for Search Ads?
Keyword targeting is a Search-campaign concept, so keyword-level reporting is available only for Search Ads. The connector shares a reporting pipeline with Yahoo Japan Display Ads, but the same keyword query on Display Ads returns no data. Because of this, the Keyword, Keyword text, and Search term breakdowns populate only for Search campaigns. Why does Reach look higher than expected over a long date range?
Report data is served from cached daily performance snapshots. Metrics based on uniqueness, such as Reach, are aggregated from those daily snapshots, so a user reached on more than one day can be counted more than once across the range. As a result, Reach may be overvalued for any date range longer than a single day. Additive metrics such as Impressions, Clicks, and Ad spend are not affected and total correctly. Why is older data incomplete or missing?
Report data is cached and refreshed on a rolling schedule that keeps a recent window current. Data is reliable within that cache sync window, and data that falls outside it may be incomplete or missing. Adriel imports the previous 93 days when the data source is first connected; because Adriel caches the data, the longer the data source stays connected, the more historical data is stored. For the exact windows and schedule, see the data reference. Why don’t impression share values add up when I sum them across rows?
Impression share metrics are percentages calculated with unique aggregation, so they are not summable across rows. A total row spanning several campaigns or keywords will not equal the sum of the individual values. These metrics are available at the ad-account, campaign, and (partially) ad-set levels, but not at the ad level. Each row’s value should be read on its own rather than totaled down the column. Why don’t my costs match the Yahoo! JAPAN Ads console?
Each ad account reports costs in its own Yahoo! JAPAN Ads currency. When that currency differs from the workspace currency, costs are converted using the current day’s exchange rate, so a converted total can differ slightly from the figure shown in the native console. Amounts viewed in the ad account’s original currency should line up with the console.Related
