YouTube Analytics is YouTube’s channel-level reporting API. Connecting it pulls aggregated channel data — views, watch time, engagement, geography, traffic sources, and viewer demographics — into Adriel dashboards, authenticated through OAuth against the connecting YouTube account.

Before you connect

The following are required:
  • A Google account with owner-level access to the YouTube channel being connected.
  • Awareness that data lags roughly 3 days at the top of the date range (set by YouTube) and that only the past year of history is fetchable (set by Adriel to stay within quota).
  • For Video Reports, awareness that data is capped at the 300 most recently published videos on the channel.
Each data source connects exactly one channel and one report template. To analyze multiple channels or multiple report templates, repeat the setup for each combination.

Connect YouTube Analytics

1

Authorize a Google account

On the Data Sources page, search for YouTube Analytics and select it. Click Sign in with Google in the pop-up and sign in with the Google account that owns the target channel, then click Continue to grant the requested YouTube and YouTube Analytics read scopes (account data, analytics, monetization metrics, partner-level data).
2

Choose the channel and report

On the data source settings, fill in the required fields:
  • Name — a readable identifier for this data source, used to tell it apart inside dashboards.
  • YouTube Channel — select one channel from the dropdown.
  • Report Type — select Channel Reports.
  • Detail Report Type — select Video Reports or Playlist Reports. This choice sets which level of aggregation applies.
  • Report Template — select one template. Available templates depend on the chosen Detail Report Type.
  • Sorting Option — some templates require a sort field; select one. If the template does not require sorting, select Not applicable to continue.
3

Submit

Click Submit to complete the connection. Initial data availability can take up to one business day.

What gets imported

The connector imports one report template per data source, refreshed daily at 05:00 UTC. The cache is upserted by date so historical rows stay stable, and the most recent days are re-fetched to absorb YouTube’s roughly 3-day finalization lag. Video Reports cover activity at the video level; Playlist Reports cover videos grouped inside the channel’s playlists. Manual refresh is available once per data source per day. For the complete list of metrics, breakdowns, report templates, and limits, see the YouTube Analytics data reference.

Troubleshooting

YouTube Analytics has a roughly 3-day lag at the top of any date range. Data is available only up to the latest day for which all requested metrics are finalized.
Each report template aggregates by its own unique breakdown and metric combination. Mixing rows from different templates inside a single widget can produce inconsistent or erroneous numbers. Keep each widget scoped to a single report template.
Video-level reports are capped at the 300 most recently published videos on the channel, sorted by publication date. This cap stays within YouTube’s daily API quota.
The connector hit the YouTube Analytics API quota or was denied access. Quota resets daily, and the next scheduled sync retries automatically. If the error persists, verify that the authorized account still has access to the channel.
