Google Ads is Google’s search, display, video, shopping, and Performance Max advertising platform. Connecting it imports the full campaign hierarchy and performance from the Google Ads API across every campaign type, normalizing metrics, breakdowns, and currencies for cross-channel reporting in Adriel dashboards.

Before you connect

The following are required:
  • A Google account with read or admin access to the Google Ads account being connected.
  • Permission to grant read access to ad performance data through Google OAuth during setup.
  • The ad account ID, if a specific account must be picked out of a long Manager (MCC) list. Ad accounts can also be selected from a list during setup.
Manager (MCC) accounts are supported. MCC hierarchy is resolved automatically, and any ad account under the MCC can be selected during the setup flow.

Connect Google Ads

1

Authorize a Google account

On the Data Sources page, search for Google Ads and select it. In the pop-up window, click Sign in with Google and sign in with the Google account that has access to the relevant ad accounts, then click Continue to grant Adriel read access.
2

Select the ad accounts

On the data source settings, choose the Ad accounts to connect. Every ad account available under the Manager account is listed; check the ones to connect.
3

Submit

Click Submit to complete the connection. The initial sync runs in the background — data availability can take up to one business day.

What gets imported

The connector imports the full campaign hierarchy (ad account → campaign → ad set (ad group) → ad → keyword → search term), standard performance metrics (impressions, clicks, cost, CPC, CPM, CTR, conversions, conversion value, ROAS, CPA), video quartile metrics, engagement metrics, and Performance Max asset group signals. Demographic, time, geographic, and creative breakdowns are available, and every conversion event configured in the Google Ads account is imported automatically with its count, value, CPA, ROAS, and CVR variants. For the complete list of metrics, breakdowns, refresh cadence, and limits, see the Google Ads data reference.

Troubleshooting

The initial sync can take up to one business day. After 24 hours, verify that the Google account used during sign-in has read access to the specific ad account; multiple Google accounts signed in to the same browser can cause sign-in mix-ups. Campaigns created more than three years ago are not imported.
The workspace timezone and the ad account timezone can differ, so the same “yesterday” maps to a different window in each tool. Conversion totals can also diverge between Google Ads and Google Analytics 4 because the two platforms use different attribution models and reporting windows.
The query requested more data than can be returned in a single call. Narrow the date range, reduce the number of breakdowns, or query at a higher level (for example, campaign instead of keyword).
Performance Max asset-level signals are not exposed by the Google Ads API for the affected widget. Campaign-level Performance Max metrics are unaffected.
