Why can’t I break Pinterest data down by age or gender at the campaign level?

Demographic, geographic, placement, and search-term breakdowns — age, gender, country, location, audience, operating system, platform placement, and search term — are reported at the ad-account level only. When one of these breakdowns is applied, Pinterest returns ad-account figures regardless of the hierarchy level selected, so campaign, ad set, and ad rows are not available for those breakdowns. To analyze demographics, keep the widget at the ad-account level. To compare campaigns or ads, use a separate widget without a demographic breakdown. Reach is also not returned in the same query as a demographic breakdown, so a widget that combines the two shows the demographic split without a reach column.

Why is my Pinterest reach higher than expected over long date ranges?

Reach counts unique users, but it is computed per daily snapshot rather than de-duplicated across the full date range. Over any range longer than a single day, a user who saw the ad on multiple days is counted on each of those days, so the total can read higher than the true unique audience. For the most accurate reach, view it one day at a time. Additive metrics such as impressions, clicks, and spend are not affected by this behavior.

Why don’t very recent Pinterest changes show in my dashboard yet?

Report data is served from the most recent cached snapshot, not queried live from Pinterest. A change made in Pinterest Ads Manager — a new campaign, an edited budget, or a freshly recorded conversion — appears only after the next scheduled sync brings it into the cache. For the sync schedule and cache windows, see the Pinterest Ads data reference. Broader background on refresh timing lives in Refresh strategies.

Why did a deleted Pinterest campaign disappear from my reports?

The connector does not retain elements after they are deleted in Pinterest. Once a campaign, ad set, or ad is deleted on the platform, its historical rows are no longer available in Adriel, even for date ranges when the element was active. To preserve reporting on a finished campaign, pause it instead of deleting it, or export the data from the dashboard before deletion.

How far back does Pinterest Ads data go when I first connect?

Adriel imports up to 365 days of history for the ad account, campaign, ad set, and ad levels when the data source is first connected. Because Adriel caches the data, the longer the data source stays connected, the more historical data is stored. Date-range ceilings still apply per granularity — daily up to 93 days, weekly up to 1 year, monthly up to 2 years. See the Pinterest Ads data reference for the full limits.

Can I report on organic Pins alongside my Pinterest Ads?

Pinterest Ads covers paid promoted-pin performance only. Organic Pin analytics come from the separate Pinterest Organic data source, and the two are not merged into one connector. Both can appear on the same dashboard as separate widgets. See the Pinterest Organic data reference for the metrics and breakdowns available on the organic side.

Common issues

Pinterest only accepts a fixed list of 15 valid attribution-window combinations. Creating a data source with an unsupported combination like V7_E1_C1 causes Pinterest to reject the request and the connector to fail. The fix is to delete the data source and reconnect with a supported attribution setting. For the full list of supported combinations, see How to connect Pinterest Ads.
