Introduction

The Pinterest Organic connector surfaces account-level, board-level, and pin-level organic performance for a connected Pinterest Business account through the Pinterest API. It covers all pins on the account, their boards, and account-level audience signals such as follower count and total pin or board counts. Pinterest is a discovery platform where the unit of content is a pin rather than a post, so metrics are pin-level rather than post-level. Pin engagement, such as saves, closeups, and outbound clicks, reflects how viewers interact with content as a discovery surface rather than as a feed. As an organic-social connector, engagement metrics, audience signals, and pin-level breakdowns are standardized so widgets can aggregate alongside other sources without additional configuration. To connect this data source, see How to connect Pinterest Organic to Adriel.

Data refresh strategy

Architecture data

Architecture covers the account, board, and pin hierarchy. It refreshes daily at 5:00 PM UTC. On first connection, pins created across the entire account history are retrieved, so the full pin library is available from the start. Only lifetime metrics are provided for those pins, with no historical daily values, so metrics accumulate in the cache from the connection date forward. New pins appear after the next daily refresh.

Reports data

Reports include lifetime account and pin data, plus daily page data.
  • Lifetime account and pin data refreshes daily at 5:00 PM UTC.
  • Daily page data covers the last 90 days on initial fetch; each subsequent cycle refreshes the most recent 3 days at 6:00 PM UTC.
Follower-type metrics have no historical backfill — only daily snapshots are cached from the connection date forward. Associated media may expire if a pin is no longer accessible through the API, and delta values for very old pins (3+ years) or pins that became unretrievable (for example, deleted, restricted, or removed by the platform) are not recorded.

Date range limits

Some time breakdowns cap the date range that can be requested. Data outside the cap may be truncated.

Metrics

How to read the columns Data type uses this vocabulary: Number, Currency, Percentage, Ratio, Duration, Date, Text, URL, Array, Boolean. API Key in code style like impressions is the literal Pinterest API field name. Italic text describes how a value is produced when it doesn’t map cleanly to a single API field.

Calendar grouping

These calendar groupings are provided by Adriel, which aggregates the underlying daily data into each view for reporting.

Overview

These grouping options are provided by Adriel for cross-connector rollup and aggregation rather than returned by the Pinterest API.

Limitations

  • Business accounts only — personal Pinterest accounts are not supported for organic analytics. The connected account must be a Pinterest Business account.
  • Lifetime-only history for pre-connection pins — pins created before the connection date carry only lifetime metrics; daily values accumulate from the connection date forward.
  • No follower backfill — follower-type metrics have no historical data and are cached as daily snapshots from the connection date forward.
  • Media expiry — associated media (images, videos) may expire if a pin is no longer accessible through the API.
  • Older and unretrievable pins — delta values for very old pins (3+ years) or pins that became unretrievable (for example, deleted, restricted, or removed by the platform) are not recorded.
  • All pins fetched every sync — the pin list is retrieved without a date filter on each refresh, which makes the connector resilient to missed cycles but produces a heavier workload for accounts with very large pin libraries.
