A list filter widget is an inline dropdown that sits on the dashboard grid and filters other widgets in real time. Instead of opening the filter panel each time, viewers can pick a value directly on the dashboard and every linked widget updates immediately — useful for interactive dashboards and client-facing reports.

When to use a list filter widget

  • Interactive dashboards where viewers switch between campaigns, channels, or ad accounts inline.
  • Client dashboards where the filter itself is part of the layout.
  • Comparison views that pivot on one shared breakdown.
For a one-time narrowing at the widget or dashboard level, use Filters instead.

Configure a list filter widget

The list filter widget opens with a single Edit widget settings panel on the right.
1

Open Dropdown options

Click the Dropdown options card. A second panel — Dropdown option settings — opens on the left. This is where the labels that populate the dropdown are picked.
2

Pick custom breakdowns or labels

The left panel lists every custom breakdown available in the current teamspace. Each row shows the breakdown name and the number of labels inside it. Expand a row to see the individual labels inside a breakdown.A Search box at the top of the list filters breakdowns by name. Click + Custom Breakdown to create a new breakdown inline — anything created here becomes available to the list filter widget immediately. Two selection modes produce different behavior:
  • Selecting a whole custom breakdown — every label currently inside that breakdown is added to the dropdown, and any new data that later matches a label’s rule is added to the dropdown automatically. Use this when new data is expected to be imported over time that matches the same conditions as the labels already picked, and that new data should show up in the filter without further action.
  • Selecting individual labels — only those specific labels appear in the dropdown. New data that later matches the same rule is not added automatically. Use this when the dropdown should stay fixed to a chosen set of labels.
3

Toggle Sort A to Z

Back in the right panel, turn Sort A to Z on to render dropdown values alphabetically. Off by default.
4

Toggle Enable multi-select

Turn Enable multi-select on to allow viewers to pick more than one value at a time. Off by default. When on, the All default entry is added to the dropdown.
5

Pick linked widgets

Click Edit next to Linked widgets to open the picker. Select which dashboard widgets the filter affects. Certain widget types can’t be linked and don’t appear in the picker: other filter widgets, alarms widgets, notepads, and goal-widget child rows.
Two default entries are always included in the final dropdown so viewers can reset the filter:
  • None — always present. Clears the filter.
  • All — present when multi-select is on. Selects every value.
Widget changes save automatically when the settings panel closes. Persist changes to the dashboard by clicking Save dashboard.

Troubleshooting

Certain widget types can’t be linked to a filter widget: other filter widgets, alarms, notepads, and goal-widget child rows. Every other widget on the dashboard is available to link.
Those are default entries — None resets the filter, All selects every value (only present when multi-select is on). They can’t be removed.
Confirm the label still exists in the underlying custom breakdown. If the label was deleted from the custom breakdown after being added to the filter, it drops out of the dropdown automatically.
