Dashboard style settings live in the dashboard’s Edit dashboard style settings drawer, opened from the dashboard header. They control the visual appearance of the dashboard as a whole and set the defaults applied to every widget inside it.

Open the style drawer

From an open dashboard, click the style button in the dashboard header. The Edit dashboard style settings drawer opens with a live preview at the top and two configuration sections below.

Preview and theme

At the top of the drawer, a Preview panel shows a mini widget mockup rendering the current theme’s palette. Next to the preview, the Select theme button opens a theme picker to swap between preset themes (which sets the widget background, font, chart color scheme, and other defaults in one click) or apply a saved custom theme.

Dashboard settings

Dashboard settings apply to the dashboard canvas — not any single widget:
  • Background color — the HEX color for the dashboard background.
  • Background image — upload an image to use as the dashboard background (JPG, JPEG, or PNG; max 2MB). Images wider than 1400px work best with the Fit to width repeat option. Two sub-settings:
    • Image size — Original size, Fit to width, or Cover.
    • Image repeat — how the image tiles across the canvas (for example, Repeat all).
  • Display cover page for PDF — toggle that adds a cover page when the dashboard is exported to PDF.
  • Widget alignment — how widgets are arranged on the dashboard canvas:
    • Auto — widgets rearrange dynamically to fill available space as the canvas resizes.
    • Custom — widget positions are fixed. Custom mode also lets a page break be inserted, which controls where pages split in report mode. See Report creation for how page breaks affect the exported report.

Global widget settings

The Global widget settings (Initial value) section sets the defaults applied to every widget on the dashboard. Individual widgets can still override these defaults through their own settings — for example, changing a color on a single chart. The available settings:
  • Widget background color — HEX color and opacity for the widget card background.
  • Border — HEX color, weight, and corner radius for the widget’s outer frame.
  • Font — the widget title’s weight, size, and color.
  • Drop shadow — HEX color, opacity, X/Y offset, and blur for the widget card’s drop shadow.
  • Data area: Background color — HEX color and opacity for the inner data area of the widget. Opacity settings are not available on the table widget.
  • Data area: Border — HEX color and weight for the inner data area’s border.
  • Chart color scheme — the palette used across widget series (chart bars, donut segments, map ramps, and so on). Pick from saved color sets.
  • Legend — text color for the widget legend.
  • Grid — colors for the chart grid:
    • Y Axis Line (HEX)
    • X Axis Line (HEX)
    • Grid Line (HEX)
    • Y Axis Label (HEX)
    • X Axis Label (HEX)
On top of these global defaults, some widget types expose a Widget styling section in their own settings panel with options unique to that widget — for example, the donut center font, the map color gradient, or the funnel segment border. See each widget article’s Widget styling section for the details.

Save changes

Style changes save automatically as they’re made. Persist them to the dashboard by clicking Save dashboard.

Troubleshooting

In Percent mode, conditional formatting is applied relative to the column’s value range. So min -5, max +5 colors values within ±5% of the range around the minimum, not values within ±5 absolute percentage points. To color by absolute percentage points, switch to Number mode where the min/max map directly to values.Conditional formatting is not supported on:
  • Transposed tables (Switch rows/columns enabled).
  • Single-metric widgets.
  • Font-color rules.
  • Lower-level breakdowns beyond the delivered scope.
