Pick a template from the gallery
1
Open the template gallery
From the teamspace and folder where the dashboard belongs, click + New dashboard. The template gallery opens. To skip the gallery and start with an empty dashboard, choose Blank dashboard. The gallery can be narrowed by role, company type, dashboard type, or data source using the filter options at the top. Filtering is optional — browsing the full gallery works too.
2
Preview before applying
Click a template to open a demo preview. The preview shows the widget arrangement with sample data — switch back to the gallery if it isn’t the right fit.
3
Create the dashboard
Apply the template. A new dashboard is created in the current folder with the template’s widgets, KPIs, and styling. The title is set to “Untitled” with a numbered suffix if needed.
4
Assign or confirm data sources per widget
Open each widget’s settings and confirm the data sources. Templates ship with widget structure; the actual data sources are workspace-specific.
Data sources on a teamspace are auto-assigned to matching template widgets. If the destination teamspace already has data sources assigned, those data sources are automatically applied to template widgets whose channel type matches — for example, a template widget expecting Meta Ads will pick up the teamspace’s Meta Ads data source at apply time. Widgets whose channel type doesn’t match anything in the teamspace remain unassigned until a data source is chosen.
Custom templates (add-on)
Custom Templates is an add-on capability. It’s included by default in agency deals; enterprise workspaces can enable it by contacting Adriel or emailingsupport@adriel.com.
With Custom Templates enabled, custom templates live in a dedicated Templates section that appears alongside the workspace’s teamspaces. It’s organized like a teamspace — same UI treatment as any other teamspace in the sidebar. Templates created there are added to the same template gallery alongside Adriel’s built-in templates, filtered and previewed the same way.
Custom templates are useful when:
- The same report structure ships to many clients with different data sources.
- A standard executive overview should be replicated across regional teamspaces.
- Onboarding new clients should always start from a workspace-standard layout.
Create a custom template
Custom templates are created by working inside the Templates teamspace — any dashboard created there is automatically treated as a template and appears in the template gallery.- In the sidebar, navigate to the Templates teamspace (it sits alongside the workspace’s other teamspaces).
- Create a new dashboard inside the Templates teamspace — set the layout, add widgets, and configure the metrics, breakdowns, and channel-type placeholders each widget should use.
- The dashboard is automatically treated as a template. It joins the template gallery for the workspace with no extra “publish” step.
Template dashboard limitations
The constraints below apply only to custom-template dashboards — the ones inside the Templates teamspace. Built-in gallery templates aren’t affected because customers don’t edit them directly. Template dashboards are structured for reuse, so editing and sharing affordances on them are limited:- No direct sharing — template dashboards can’t have share links created directly. Share a dashboard created from the template instead.
- No snapshots or PDF downloads from the template — the Snapshot, Share, and Download PDF buttons are hidden on template dashboards.
- No AI Agent on template dashboards — the AI Agent button is hidden.
- Move restricted — template dashboards can’t be freely moved out of the Templates teamspace.
- Report mode editing — even admin users have edit rights stripped on template dashboards inside Report mode.
- Data sources are placeholders — widgets on a template carry channel-type placeholders (for example, “Meta Ads”), not specific ad accounts. Real data sources are wired in when the template is applied to a dashboard.
Use a custom template
Custom templates appear alongside Adriel-shipped templates in the gallery, with a label indicating they’re workspace-specific. Pick one the same way as any shipped template — filter, preview, apply, then confirm data sources. After applying a template
Templates are a starting point, not a finished product. Common follow-up steps:- Customize the layout — dashboard-wide styling, alignment, page breaks.
- Adjust widget layout — arrange the grid.
- Set KPIs — many templates ship with KPI targets ready to fill in.
- Browse the Widget library to add widgets that aren’t in the template.
Troubleshooting
Who made a change to a template and can that be verified?
Who made a change to a template and can that be verified?
Adriel keeps template edit history that identifies which user made each edit. A template’s changes can be attributed to specific users with timestamps, and views inherit whatever version of the template existed at the time the view was created. If a view looks wrong, compare its creation timestamp against the template’s edit history — the view may have inherited a pre-edit version of the template. Support can pull the full edit history for a template.
